I am a Buddhist. Buddhism is my way of life.
It is "a teaching which takes a view of life that is more than superficial, a teaching which looks into life and not merely at it, a teaching which furnishes men with a guide to conduct that is in accord with this its in-look, a teaching which enables those who give it heed to face life with fortitude and death with serenity."
From www.buddhanet.net.
Buddism emphasize on controlling our "mind".
The most important battle is to control ourself.
As Buddha have said " One may conquer millions men in a single battle. However, the greatest and the best warrior conquer himself"
Below is some of Buddha's teaching. He is not a god. He was a human, a great teacher, an awakening one.
I hope you find some benefit from his teaching.
For those who interest to learn more about Buddhism, I encourage you to visit www.buddhanet.net.
It is a very good source of Buddhism, online.
" When asked "Are you a god or a man?" the Buddha replied "I am awake."

in very here and now"

"simplicity brings more happiness than complexity" (Buddha)
"Praise and blame, gain and loss, pleasure and sorrow come and go like the wind. To be happy, rest like a great tree in the midst of them all" (Buddha)

Mindfulness
"In observing life deeply it is possible to see clearly all that is. Not enslaved by anything, It is possible to put aside all craving. The result is life of peace and joy.
This is truly to live alone"
(Buddha)
"If you let cloudy water settle, it will become clear. If you let your upset mind settle, your course will also become clear." (Buddha)

Kalama Suttra
"Don't go by reports, by legends, by traditions, by scripture, by conjecture, by inference, by analogies, by agreement with your views, by probability, or by the thought, "This contemplative is our teacher." When you know for yourselves that, "These qualities are skillful; these qualities are blameless; these qualities are praised by the wise; these qualities, when undertaken and carried out, lead to welfare and to happiness"-then you should enter and remain in them." (Buddha)
